To shorten simply remove the hook with a pair of pliers, cut off the rope to the perfect length and reinstall clip. For the Halter Busy Buddy, you can make minor size adjustments by raising or lowering the halter.
Fit: The Busy Buddy should fit loosely in the horse’s mouth, it should not pull the corners of their mouth. Find the position where they begin to chew.

I’ve used it twice so far for farrier appointments. My mare has been fidgety for years and gets bored easily with the farrier, so I thought this would be something worth trying while she is getting re-shod. I was skeptical, but it seems to work! She has never been so still and content during farrier visits until I started using this. My farrier also agreed. I will continue to use it.
