Basic ThinLinePlus+ and Ultra ThinLine pads

These pads do not require washing. If you choose to wash, we recommend the ThinLine wipes and sprays, or baby wipes. You can hose off or machine wash (in a front loader, cold water, no dryer). White pads may be bleached. Please keep ThinLine basic pads away from chemicals such as Show Sheen, oils or leather conditioner.

Sheepskin pads and products

These are made with 100% medical grade merino wool, we use real sheepskin on a full leather hide, not fleece, no synthetics. Organic tanning is used. Please follow care instructions carefully to support durability and to ensure your product stays under warranty.

Regular maintenance: Dry between rides. Place the pad sheepskin face up in a cool environment, in humid climates use a fan to blow over the pad. Once the pad is dry, lightly brush it with a pet brush to help to keep the wool fluffy and resilient for the next ride.

Washing and drying: Sheepskin saddle pads are best washed by hand in cold water using Eucalan. You may machine wash (although hand wash is preferred) in a front loader, no agitators against the pad, gentle wash cycle, cold. Remove excess water in the pad by squeezing the water out or placing in your washing machine on the spin cycle. Please do not use Melp!

Fill washing machine (or bathtub for really large items) with water, then add Eucalan. Soak for 1 hour squeezing soap and water through item from time to time. If the item is really dirty you may need to repeat the process. Squeeze or use the spin cycle to remove excess water and lay over a rack or rail to dry, keep out of the sun and away from direct heat and dryers.

Full Sheepskin Pads may take 2-3 days to dry. Sheepskin trim items should be good to go in a day. The ThinLine shim may slow drying time, we recommend placing absorbent products such as paper towels or shami’s such as sham wow inside the pocket. Do not brush, pull or overly stretch the sheepskin hide when wet.

You can use Scotch Guard the rolls to keep them clean and extend washing cycles.

Cotton comfort pads

Machine wash in a front loader with cold water and a mild detergent using the gentle cycle. White pads can be bleached. Hang dry.

Western felt saddle pads

Our felt saddle pads have a high percentage of wool content, we do not recommend machine washing or using hot water to clean, or heat to dry as such methods can cause shrinkage. EZ All is the best cleaner we have found for our felt pads. To hand wash, use a soft cloth/sponge, a mild shampoo or detergent free soap (such as Woolite or EZ All), and tepid water. Work up a small lather on soiled area then rinse with clean water. Place your pad in a well-ventilated area for efficient air drying.

We also recommend brushing your pad with a curry brush. This will dislodge hair, dirt and sweat to prolong the usefulness of your pad.

Horse boots

Plastic or synthetic boots (schooling, sport, splint, Cobra and bell boots) can be hosed or sponged off with water, or with ThinLine cleaners. The Cobra (SMB) boots can be machine washed in a front loader using a mild detergent. Hang dry all boots.

For leather boots (jumper and skid boots), we recommend using ThinLine cleaners as they are completely safe for the ThinLine foam material and do an excellent job of cleaning leather. To condition the leather, we recommend using a paste-like conditioner so you have more control of where it is applied and can avoid saturating the ThinLine foam. One of the best things about ThinLine boots is their easy care. They do not retain water so after a simple hosing, they are ready to go back on any horse.

Girths, Cinches, and Tack:

We recommend the use of ThinLine Cleaners for these products as they have been tested and are completely safe for the ThinLine foam lining and do an excellent job of cleaning the leather. For conditioning the leather, we recommend using a paste conditioner to control the application. Our girths are so easy to care for it requires just a simple wipe or hosing.
